My name is Philip, i am 28 years old and i am from germany but moving to craiova in october. It all started 2009 with a small 60 Liter tank for my wife. Now i just sold my 300 liter south america tank in order to move to romania. Since i am not planning to quit my beloved hobby i want to get in touch with other aquarists from romania who could help me with the topics like: waterquality/values and aquarium builder and good fish shops.
Welcome Philip! Some of us know English pretty well and I think we'll understand each other if you don't google translate also from German to English
Unfortunately, I'm from Bucharest so I cannot tell you much about shops in Craiova but I can tell you that it's hard to find well stocked shops even in Bucharest.
The most common brands are JBL and Tetra with some Eheim products as well which you may find in the Hornbach supermarket network which is the only I know of that has an Aquaria section.
Speaking of South America, are you into small Cichlids or Discus? What are you planning on building?
Also, I've taken the liberty of doing a better job at translating to Romanian what you have said as google translate mixes up the word ordering ;)

Hello and welcome to our forum.
I think it's best to reach out to online shops, like: reef.ro, pepika.ro, happypets.ro (these are the shops I have bought from and I was pleased with them).
And you also can buy from our forum users. You can find here good plants, fishes (and other living stuff) and even hardware for your tank.
thanks for the very warm welcome! I know the translation is probably unbearable but i didn't want to be impolite and write directly in English.
For the new tank that i plan to setup in Craiova i was planning for a otocinclus only 300 liter cube. I had pretty bad experience with those fish.. never managed to keep them for a long time. So now after some years of experience i want to get back to them. Also not many people have successfully bred them.. if i would manage that it would be just awesome! So yeah my first interest is to maybe find a tank builder that can build me a 70/70/50 cube and the second would be to get some otocinclus!
My last 300 liter tank was basically filled with some of the inhabitants of the 60 liter tank we started with (finally giving them the tank they needed... as usual with the beginners: bad recommendations by the seller at the shop). Xiphophorus helleri, Corydoras Paleatus, Paracheirodon axelrodi, Ancistrus spec., Sturisoma Festivum, Bunocephalus coracoideus.
180L
300L
I have a second tank that was already home to a pair of Hara Minuscula. But those died rather quickly before i could even manage to up the stock number. (Where very hard to find.)
At the moment i have a trio of Chlamydogobius eremius (australian desert goby) in the old 60 L tank. Great fish with a very interesting behavior and they are also able to get along with a wide range of water values. Therefor they are coming along with me to romania!
Hope you guys dont mind a bit of picture dump!
Edit: And thanks for the correction of the google romanian.. my daughter and my wife speak romanian so i understand a bit out of the context but i am far away from writing and proper speaking.
I'm not into fish that much so I'm no good with recommending what needs the Otos have.
I recently bought a bunch of them myself from the aforementioned Hornbach supermarket. Mostly to deal with polishing my plants
I'm not planning on breeding them yet as I'll need to know them better and wait for them to mature.
I'm using mostly fish from the Amazon basin, various Tetras: cardinal, neon, glowlight, black. They are close as water conditions go to what the plants need.
The recent addition of Otocinclus is based on their hunger for weak algae and other debris from plants.
no worries. For information about otocinclus I refer to planetcatfish.com there is also one user who managed to breed them.
THANK YOU so much for that link! The prices are good! I will definitely not transport a tank from germany to romania if i can get the same tank for 10-20€ cheaper there!
For your otocinclus i recommend you to add cucumber and zucchini that has been put in boiling water for a bit so it is soft (but of course let it cool down). The vegetables you will need to take out after 24hrs. Algae plates that are used to make sushi is also something they like (so the feeding is a bit messy). You will probably need to do that because they will not find enough algae to eat.
Greetings,
Philip
